1998 Firebird Intake Noise?

I recently bought a 1998 firebird base model only 48,000 miles on it and I noticed like a gurgling sound coming from the air filter intake area, i opened hte filter box and removed the filter and the sound only got louder. I heard the it might be bad intake manifold gaskets but after looking up videos im not so sure thats what it is, the sound int he videos is liek tapping sounds, this isnt tapping in mine its liek gurgling noise. anyone no what this might be?
