My best friend is in a coma?

My best friend Gary had a car accident and is now in a coma. I go to visit him everyday (its been a month) but he never wakes up. I would like to tell him something thats been a secret for about five years. I want to tell him I love him, but I'm afraid he won't wake up. His mom offered for me to stay at her house so I won't have to travel on the subway to visit him at the hospital, but I don't think I could bare being in his room. I just don't know what to do. I'm afraid he might die and I won't ever see him or be able to tell him I love him. What should I do?
