Do you think that every thing that happen is for a reason? and every person you meet is for a reason?

I meet a guy who became my best boy friend ever, we have instant connection but I was committed to marry another guy. I am still in touch with my best friend who is in another country, we chat always, laugh and have fun. The connection is still there but we both know that nothing more is happening other than friend ship. I always think everything happen for a reason and I was wondering why God made me meet this person and have great connection with and I married another guy that he loves me so much and i adore. I would like if anyone can shear thier thinking about this subject
