I do not mean to sound selfish! I have not even received an engagement ring - yet. My first marriage ended up with my having him prosecuted for molesting our daughter & I have remained single for many years to be strong for my children & we are all doing wonderful & I am NOT seflish - I promise you!! I have finally opened up to a wonderful man & we talk of marriage & everyone is in apporval & we are taking our time. I dream of the day he puts a ring on my finger, but this nagging little voice inside my head knows he has NO CLUE when it comes to jewelry & I however do not have expensive taste, but do have extensive knowledge because of family business experience. Does a person in a coma actually hear the people around them.?

I'm sorry to hear about you family's situation. I was in a coma once a few years back for about only 23 hours and just out of nowhere awoke from it. To me I heard nothing, smelt nothing, and felt nothing. To me it was sleep like. I didn't dream, it was just like I was sleeping. Other than that I've never personally met anyone whose ever been in a coma. I sure hope her condition gets better and that she can hear things around her. Alright, so my AQHA Gelding is just a little under weight, no big deal. WIC program in California?

You have to bring the kids at least one a year for certification. There are other meetings the kids need to attend as well. Basically you go every 3 months and either read some brochures and take a mini "test" or you meet with an educator for 20 min. It is really basic obvious stuff like you read a brochure on how vegetables are healthy for kids, then you get a quesionaire like"What is a healthier snack? Carrot sticks or cookies?" "What is the healthier way to cook potatoes? Deep fried or baked?"

Should I let my cat's former owner see him?

This question is the heart that I was trying to get to with my last question, but my facetious approach didn't translate well online. Here is the gist, again. I adopted a cat in December. When the adoption happened, I thought it would be fine for the former owner to see the cat. She wants to do that now. The thing is this cat and I have not fully clicked. We just haven't fully gelled--nothing serious. I had a cat die soon before the adoption and Referee, the new cat, was rescued from the freeway from his former owner. We both were sad when the adoption happened. I think it is just taking time. I just don't want him confused by seeing his former owner OR more likely resenting me because if she is able to visit then he should be able to go home with her (in his mind). I have tried to explain these things to the former owner, but she doesn't seem to get it. I am sure she just wants to make sure that the cat is cared for. I would probably want the same. THANKS!

I had the same problem and realized that it was the pump that was causing my to be so sore. To help them heal, do warm compresses, not cold. Neosporin will heal them almost immediately. Just make sure to wipe them off gently before your son nurses. It will get better. Mine bled and just like you, I was in sooo much pain. I thought, how do people do this? I thought I was going to have to quit but my pediatrician told me to stop pumping and it saved me! Neosporin was a life saver too. Good luck and hang in there. xo

Need Help, diagnosis?

Hello, I am a 21 year old male. Currently, I have been having a wide range of symptoms and it has me really worried. To begin with, I have been grinding my teeth since the age of 9 or 10. I only grind my teeth voluntarily and do not do it at night. Furthermore, I twist my torso/lower back, similar to how I grind my teeth. My lower back and neck is always stiff/rigid. Both of these motions are voluntary and doing them leads to relief. Also, I have experienced muscle twitching since 10 years of age but only once a month or so. Now my muscles twitch regularly every day especially in the thighs and legs. I also am having some difficulty swallowing where in the day my throat is clear but it gets progressively worse throughout the day, where it feels like I have something stuck in my throat. Recently, I have also begun to experience jerky movements at night right before I am about to fall asleep, and these movements wake me up.For example, my arm will involuntarily jerk, waking me up. At the same time I have been experiencing depression/anxiety. I have been to the doctors and done blood tests where everything came back normal. The doctor has referred me to a neurologist to determine what the cause. I am just confused and want to know what I have. I think it is a neurological condition of some sort, and I am 100% it is not anxiety/stress. I believe I may have early-onset Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, Huntington's or some other nervous system disease. It is the lack of certainty that has me worried. I just want a clear diagnosis so I can put my mind to ease. Sorry for the long post, but I really needed to get that off my chest. Please help if you can :(

We had no idea we were going to be moving. Other wise I wouldn't have breed her. We are moving because of a job offer. Anyways my hedgehog, just had her first litter. Why am i having wierd and bad dreams about my boyfriend and related to my mom after she ped away?

I went to the doctors for my second ultra sound with kaiser and my doctor told me my unborn child had cystic hygroma a severe case of hydrops in his abdominal area and around his head. the doctor told me in his 15 years of practice that he has never seen a baby survive this bad of a case that i have 2 options abort now or wait for the babys heart to give out. I chose to wait. I have had second opinions but emergency doesnt do all the procedures that kaiser did. I dnt want to give up hope but i dnt want to set myself up for disapointment.

A person can be righteous and have love for his fellow man without being told by some Reverend or priest that this is what he should do. Furthermore, a person can believe in God without any connection to a specific church. His/her devotion to God can be honest and loving without reading books of fiction that instruct him/her what to say and when to say it. God doesn't need temples and churches for people to worship Him. A person can worship God in his/her heart without the intricate trappings of a church or temple. To conclude, anyone who knows history of the world knows how many wars were fought in the name of Christ or Allah and how many poor souls were lost because of these battles. As you said it...absolute atrocities!

If you can put a heated perch or ceramic heat lamp that would be good. Cover the top portion of the aviary to prevent strong wind draft. Cover all around the top portion where they normally perched. cats on top of the aviary and big bird flew on top of tehm is not a problem. They will eventually realize that these cannot get to them. I have dog and wild bird all over my outdoor aviary all the time. My birds get used to them and ignore them.

Hiv testing accuracy?

I've had three antibody negative test results between 3 and 6months from exposure. I've had flu like symptoms on and off for 3months as well so that is why i continued testing. At one point when i felt very ill (swollen glands,sore throat, headaches,etc.)(3months post exposure) I took the dna pcr qualitative test and that came back negative. My question to those with knowledge or experience with this is as follows: A. With traditional clinical symptoms shouldnt one of my Antibody tests be positive if I was infected by HIV? B. With the DNA PCR test(post 3months exposure) and having symptoms of a viral illness shouldn't this test pic up the viral activity if the illness is HIV caused? Just trying to rule out this disease and thanks for the feedback!

My current boyfriend of 9 months dislikes my ex-boyfriend. my ex and I only dated for 6 months, but remained very close and still had feels for much longer. I have the steel insulated chimney and last year I cleaned it out about 4 times during the burning season, late October to end of March. This year, I just did it on Jan 3rd or so and I don't plan on doing it again until April 1st. I burn nice dry wood so I am not too concerned about creosote buildup. I have looked up a mongolilan spot on the internet, and have looked at pictures. But I am not sure If what I have is a Mongolian spot. These spots are described to be a deep bluish/green spot. Mare that wont eat for 3 weeks?

Okay, she is a 24 yo arab. healthy until Oct 18th when she took her last bite. The vet came out Sat Oct 19th. she was lying on the ground, not rolling,k normal temp, respiration, bp. checked her teeth. SLIGHT ridges on upper right but nothing at all to be concerned with. @ days later she had shallow breaths, respirations, calle dthe vet out again. they administered, pain IV meds, sedation, full exam, rectal, mouth recheck, administered oil (for possible impaction) along with epsom salts after emtying the stomach. They retrieved only 2 quarts of water out of the stomach (5-6 is cause for concern). so the stomach is not emptying perfect but no alarm. Bloodwork up done. NOTHING shows, infection, no liver / kidney failure, only shows dehydration. We have given her IV potium (since shes not getting hay in her) and we pumped her tummy full of 2-3 gallons of water. We have fed her seperately since \then from our other horse, BELIEVE mewhen I say she hasnt eaten. two weeks in she took one mouthful of hay, wont eat grain, sometimes sucks on the water we put in it to entice her. Like I said earlier she wont even eat her favorites. She has lost weight a bit looking like it here in week three. She conserves her energy lots. she looks at the hay, sticks her head in the bucket like she desires to eat,m but I even had to shove the watermelon in her mouth once to get her to chew. The vet is at a loss. They had one just recently that stopped eating for ane whole month then just started up again. We believe if she doesnt start she either has a lipoma surrounding her intestines, or a stone that is making her uncomnfortable.. Our goal now is to ENTICE her to eat.. ANY IDEAS??? BTW I cant figure out how to answer you all back without writing another question... help

Okay Okay, I was your average dieter, diet after fad diet, yo yo weight, always thinking about my weight feeling badly. Always saying "i'll diet tomorrow". Okay so after having a miscarriage when my husband and I had been trying over two years, I told myself that I would lose twenty pounds before TTC again. We miscarryed in october, and were told to weight two normal cycles anyway. So, you know what my new years resolution was. Except I went a step further, no yo yo's, watching what I eat and excercising. I also gave up soda. I was apprx. 80lbs overweight, since 1-1-08, I've lost 21lbs, and 31lbs since I was pregnant the first time. Woo hoo right? Well why don't I feel that way about it!! I eat apprx 1200-1500 cal a day, letting myself have two freebie meals a week (eating out with hubby/friends) And I feel so badly about myself, upset I'm not losing weight fast enough, (which I know is crazy!) 16 yr. old laced weed dementia?

Why is my 6 month old waking up so much now?

He may be teething my son kind of went through the same thing. He was a great sleeper and around 6 months he started waking up again about 1-2 times a night. I figured out he was hungry. I didn't strt feeding him baby food until around the same age so I started adding baby food to his bedtime routine and it worked like a charm. the milk just wasn't keeping him full thru the night anymore. Teething is also a big factor. Maybe try some oragel right before you put him down. As for the sleeping on the tummy thing, my son started doing that too and there is no way I can keep him on his back anymore. I'm pretty sure the sids thing is on the downhill after 6 months and keeping a fan running in his room will decrease the chance for sids by 70%. And if you are really worried just take the bumpers off of his crib. These things should help you sleep more soundly. Good Luck.

Clara is a who-knows-what, due to be 9 years old on Beethoven's birthday (in December). She was born with a deformed and hairless front leg, ankle, and foot, and rejected by her mother. The people who had the litter were going to let her die, but she was rescued by some neighbor children who took the puppy to Grandma and Grandpa. Grandma and Grandpa fed and cared for the puppy, but already had 3 dogs at home and wanted to find another home for the puppy. Well, Grandma and I worked together, and she knew I was planning to get a dog from the local shelter in January, but she told me "I think I have your puppy" and Grandpa stopped by the office with her. Clara has lived with me since she was 5 weeks old, and is a delight! To everyone's surprise, the leg did grow, although it is shorter than the others, and her ankle and foot have never worked properly, either. She walks with a hitch, but gets around very well and doesn't seem to know or care that she has a problem. She is too slow to catch any interloping critters in the yard (thank goodness!), and I have kept her off furniture to protect her leg from the getting-down part. She is a smart, funny, 50 pound sweetie with a bark as big as all outdoors when strangers come near. All the neighbors call her "the dog that waves", since when she sees friends and is excited she sits and waves her bad leg up and down. She is happy and healthy, and I simply adore her!

I disagree with everyone on here. If you use your protein shakes as a meal replacement, you will lose weight. If you simply add the protein shakes to a unhealthy diet then you will gain weight. Because you are feeding your body protein, you will burn more fat. But be mindful that muscle weighs more than fat. So after a while you will have lost a lot of fat "weight" but if you are doing muscle building exercising then eventually you'll gain weight...even if it is muscle weight.

We should have never had that kind of "relationship" with Israel or even with Europe to begin with. We should have tried to have amicable relationships with everyone while avoiding "alliances" or becoming embroiled in conflicts that do not concern us. What is Israel's problem is not necessarily OUR problem. What is Englands problem is not necessarily our problem and so forth. By aligning ourselves so tightly to foreign countries, we essentially become a slave to them or get mired in problems when it is not in our National Interest.

well im a libra with a gemini rising and ive been having a crappy year too. At the start of the year i had huge fallouts with two friends but were speaking again now, I also got my heart broken by one of those friends . then i got diagnosed with depression with schitzophrenic tendencies and my friends were such d**ks about that and made fun of me because i was suicidal and now one still isnt talking to me after two months even though ive said im sorry even though ive nothing to be sorry for. Anyway i was recently re-diagnosed with potential bi-polar disorder type 2 but because of my age (im 14) no one will make the full diagnoses. :( so yeah crappy year hopefully it will get better soon.

its my first semester in a university and im totally flipping out! im taking a greek, linguistics, dance, and "art of listening to music cl", and somehow im headed toward failing the music cl! when i signed up for it it was basically a filler that fit into my schedule, and i thought it would be the easiest thing (which it is if i had kept up), so i put it on the back burner. now, with like 2 1/2 weeks left of school i realize i've missed 3 of the 9 online quizzes and a deadline for a concert of my choice that i was supposed to attend... i emailed the teacher whose a really nice guy and he asked how i managed to miss them when i knew they were on the schedule, haven't responded to that yet, i feel like there really isn't an exuse. so today i figured i could just withdraw, but the dealine was over a week ago... and i really don't want to fail this cl and eff up my gpa right from the begining, the other cles im getting 2 a's and a b+, but the dance is p/fail so that doesn't help much... and i don't know what i should do!!! should i beg the professor to have mercy on my soul?! which is prolly not gonna happen, i prolly couldn't get an exception W, would i somehow be able to get an incomplete or something? and how would i ask the professor for that? its totally my fault and i feel horrible... thank you sooo much for any advice!

I average $140K a year net, and I have no current dept. besides 1 car payment and rent. Because of my poor credit I can't seem to get a loan for a home for my family. It doesn't bother me at all. I personally think that what goes on behind a bedroom door between two consenting individuals is fine by me, and not really any of my business. It does not mean that these people are sick or twisted--most are completely normal, and just get turned on by different things. There is a big difference between someone who likes being submissive or dominant in the bedroom and someone who has the potential to be a criminal. In my personal opinion, you'd serve yourself well to be a bit more open minded, especially with a subject that has no pressing relevance to your life.
